Public Art Mixed Media Installation Cascade, 2018
Public Art Installation
Returning to my roots, I picked up my brushes and painted in an asiatic style that I learned while living in South Korea. Greatly influenced by the hanging fabric and lanterns of buddhist temple art, I wished to convey a sense of peaceful contemplation. Airy yet anchored by marble pieces leftover from my sculptures, this piece fused my east and west sensibilities. The branch is a piece of drift wood found on the shores of Lake Michigan, while the room suspending the piece is hand braided jute twine meant to mimic a braid of hair.
