Recycled Metal Art Sculpture I Fly – Nature in Motion Lincoln Park Zoo 2014
Public Art Installation
The recycled metal art sculpture installation I Fly is a portrait of the common housefly perched in the act of swooping down from the leaves. It was installed for 6 months in Lincoln Park Zoo Chicago for the Nature in Motion exhibition. The fly symbolizes humanity and the leaves pristine nature, while the scraps of metal are humanity’s impact on the earth. This depiction of anticipated flight reflects the worldwide ecosystem of interactions between organisms and their environments, a constant ebb and flow, for better or for worse, of energy and resources or “Nature in Motion.”
